The second stop of the 10th anniversary tour Exhibition of John Moores Painting Prize (China) to Wuhan has its special historical and current significance. We will tour the Oil Painting Department of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts and the Fine Arts Literature Art Center. Introduction about John Moores Painting Prize

Painting is often regarded as a traditional art medium, but even the most traditional medium can be at the forefront of cultural development. Since its creation in the UK in 1957, the John Moores Painting Prize has focused on judging paintings on their own merits, presenting us with a rich tapestry of work. Previous winners have included internationally renowned artists such as David Hockney, Peter Doig and Richard Hamilton. Looking back at the history of the John Moores Painting Prize for is like looking through a book of contemporary art history, showing what has been going on in the world for the last 60 years.

Ten years is a milestone that deserves to be celebrated and summed up. It has been ten years since the first John Moores Painting Prize (China) was successfully held in Shanghai in 2010. The number of members of the John Moore family has grown to 25 artists, ranging in age from the 60s to the 90s, and the region is far and wide. After winning the award, they have achieved good development. and have more reflections on their artistic life.
